Xin Ying Han posseses an extensive knowledge within the field of Food Technology. The drive to share her passion has seen Xin Ying give presentations, teach, and train aspiring students within the field.
Having travelled from Singapore to New Zealand in 2019 to further her degree with an Honours in Food Technology, was not without barriers and challenges, all of which helped Xin Ying develop confidence to overcome any obstacles life can throw at her.
Xin Ying has an impeccable command of language, namely English and Mandarin, while also having dabbled with some Italian. This allows Xin Ying to not only understand concepts that are published in a range of languages, but train staff from various backgrounds in a way that really communicates how procedures, such as health standards within the food industry, should be undertaken.
Coupled with an innate understanding of extensive research methods, Xin Ying has successfully used her well developed interpersonal and communication skills to divulge technical details to teams, both large and small, that she has had the pleasure of working with.
Xin Ying's hard work ethic, dedication, and ability to work independently while holding herself accountable, makes her a great addition to any team. All companines would be lucky to have such a driven person in their personnel.

Responsible for leading, planning and conducting product formulation projects. This included my involvement in scaling up the commercial production of wow noodles. I was also involved in the completion of quality control checks of end product.
This role allowed me to gain valuable experienced in the formulation of food products, such as noodles, rice, spreads, and breads, through utilising waste products.
Creating a product catalogue for food prototypes which introducing products to potential business collaborators, taught me a lot about the food industry. Including end to end production processes, quality control experience through managing wow noodles, resulting in participation in a video showcased at APEC.
Handled kitchen preparations for orders, including learning and applying basic cooking techniques, such as stir frying, toasting, and boiling.
This role came with a high stress environment and entailed successfully navigating the peak hour turn-overs to continue ensuring seamless delivery of quality dishes.
This hands-on experience not only allowed me to refine my culinary skills but also provided a platform for continuous learning and growth.
Assisted in the nutritional assessment of infant food products, while ensuring they remained compliant with international food regulation standards.
Created a nutritional template and methodology, which resulted in leading trials in the lab. Handled procurement of materials in lab, including creating the report for the trials carried out in the lab.

I spent 3 months working as a temp screener. The duties I had were checking whether learners have done their safe entry, assist learners in finding their way to different locations of the driving center and assist in crowd control to maintain safe distancing.
I spent 4 months working in the national library as a roving officer to perform roving duties to enforce library etiquette. This aims to ensure the library remains a conducive place to read and conduct research. The list of my duties are as follows: Look out for any suspicious and undersirable persons and report to NLB's library staff immediately. This includes patrons leafing thorugh book pages with attempt to vandalise, tear or take away the books/magazines in their bags. Record any observations in the roving checklists Answer simple queries regarding building facilities, library opening hours, location of service facilities such as photocopying room. Handle and manage incidents, assist staff in handling difficult patrons. Direct enquiries on other library matters to NLB staff. Able to effectively listen and understand patrons.
Attended to customers that booked tour packages with SIA. Provided them with the items that were ordered via the package and gave instructions to tourists regarding use of the items. Arranged for transportation for tourists to their hotels and liaised with hotel staff about tour package.
I have 4 months experience in customer service. My work comprises of taking calls from HDB residents who want to feedback about the maintenance of the common areas .Through working in this industry I am able to effectively resolve customer questions ,take ownership of customer's issues or problems from beginning to end and compose thoughtful, personalized responses to a variety of customers. I have also learned to adopt a cheerful demeanor when interacting with customers and adapt my responses base on the situation. This line of work has thought me the basic use of Microsoft Office such as tabulating data into Excel.
I did part time at New Zealand natural which is an ice cream shop. My duties included cleaning the premises, serving customers, taking orders, closing up the shop and calculating profits made during the day.

Part of keeping your mind healthy comes from constantly learning new material. Travelling helps the brain remain maleable, as you visit new destinations and absorb various cultures and customs.
The only thing better than go on a trek and taking in all the amazing nature on our planet by ourselves, comes in doing it with friends! I've enjoyed every minute of my time exploring the planet with friends.
Tons of cities around the globe are full of amazing cultural heritage. Finding these spots and learning the meaning behind each city, brings me a ton of joy.
